Conrad Machine Co. is a fourth generation owned family business, founded in 1945 by Earl and Robert Conrad with assistance from their father, Hveding Conrad.
Fresh out of WWII and back from both the Pacific and European theaters, Earl and Robert started a small machine shop just outside of Chicago in a converted farm barn with little more than ideals and the American dream.
In the early 1950s, Conrad Machine started manufacturing its first printmaking presses. Within a few years, the Conrad press line grew into a variety of sizes of tabletop and floor model etching and litho presses.
Today, we are recognized worldwide as the premier source for printmaking products as well as the oldest manufacturer of fine art printmaking presses in North America.
